Richard “Jim” Piccione, M.D.
Dr. Piccione was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana. He graduated from Acadiana High School and received his Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA. He then received his Doctor of Medicine from L.S.U. Medical Center in New Orleans, LA. Upon completing his internship in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Earl K. Long Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA, Dr. Piccione went on to the University of Kentucky to complete his residency in Ophthalmology. He was then accepted into a fellowship program in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Once Dr. Piccione finished his surgical training in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus, he returned to Lafayette in 1997 to open his practice. As a pediatric ophthalmologist, he provides diagnostic and comprehensive evaluations along with medical and surgical treatment for children with visual problems. He is also trained and highly skilled to treat adults with eye muscle disorders.
Dr. Piccione is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, member of the Louisiana Medical Association and the Lafayette Medical Association. His community services include past board member of the Boys and Girls Club, past board member of Acadiana Center for the Arts, past member of Kiwanis of Acadiana and yearly projects with Acadiana Youth, Inc.
Dr. Piccione lives in Lafayette with his wife, Carol Ann and their three children, Caroline, Jack and Nicholas.
Erica V. Lukasko, O.D.
Dr. Erica Viator Lukasko was born and raised in New Iberia, Louisiana. She graduated from Catholic High School and received her Bachelor's of Science from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois. She completed her externship studies at various sites throughout the Chicago land area and at Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Optometric Association of Louisiana, the Cornea and Contact Lens Society, the AOA’s InfantSee Program and the Optometric Acadiana Society. She is also a member of the Lafayette Lions Club, a service organization dedicated to eye care.
Dr. Erica V. Lukasko is a Diplomat of the American Board of Optometry, demonstrating her commitment to education and excellence in comprehensive eye care. She is also Board Certified in Ophthalmic Surgery Procedures approved by the Louisiana state Board of Optometry Examiners.
Dr. Lukasko provides full scope optometric eye care dedicated to providing the highest quality vision to our children and adults in a friendly, comfortable and professional atmosphere. She is able to the meet the visual needs of the entire family.
Dr. Lukasko lives in Lafayette with her husband, Bill and their two children, Alaina and Will.
